Development of an energy efficient solid-state magnetic cooling device


There has been considerable progress in the development of magnetic materials that can exhibit reversible temperature change upon application of magnetic field. Currently there are promising materials that can be used to develop an energy efficient magnetic cooling device however, the research and development on the device is lacking. This project will enable students to design, fabricate and test a solid-state cooling device based on the magnetic materials.
